Division Summary

 

 

Welcome to the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Medicine. The Division serves as a major referral center for patients with a gynecologic cancer in the state of Tennessee as well as the Southeast. We are a multidisciplinary team of gynecologic oncologists, nurses, and consultants providing comprehensive, compassionate care in treating women's cancers. Our faculty members are Dr. Stephen DePasquale, Dr. todd Boren, and Dr. Shae Connor.  They are fellowship trained gynecologic oncologists specializing in minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of uterine, cervical, and ovarian malignancies. The Division provides access to immediate consultations, ovarian and endometrial cancer risk assessment, advanced abdominal-pelvic and minimally invasive surgical procedures including robotics, expert gynecologic cancer pathologists, comprehensive chemotherapy infusion services, rapid radiation oncology consultations, cutting edge clinical trials, and supportive care services.

 

Education is also a key mission of the Division. We actively participate in the training of medical students and residents within the Department as well as the minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellows.

 

Personal Summary

 

Dr. Boren joined the division of gynecologic oncology in 2012. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from LSU College of Medicine in New Orleans in 2002. He completed his residency in Ob/Gyn at Bayfront Medical Center in St Petersburg, FL in 2006 followed by a research fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.

 

He completed a 4 year fellowship in gynecologic oncology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.  Dr. Boren and Dr. Shae Connor specializes in the treatment of women with ovarian, uterine, cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers as well as gestational trophoblastic disease. He also specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques utilizing the Da Vinci robotic surgical system.
