FME3-3010 Goals & Objectives

Family Medicine Senior Clerkship



  •          Prepare medical students for residency training
  •          Improve presentation skills
  •          Advance ability in the assessment of and plans for patients
  •          Improve analysis of laboratory reports and reading of x-rays and EKGs
  •          Coordination of care in the hospital and at discharge
  •          Lifelong learning 


  •          Students are assigned to the Family Practice inpatient service
  •          Responsibility for caring for 2 to 4 patients
  •          Preparation of History and Physical and admitting orders
  •          Daily progress notes and Discharge Summaries
  •          Participation in morning reports, rounds, evening hand offs, and call
  •          Daily reading with completion of any specific assignments
