Schools in Chattanooga

Chattanooga has a fine public school system and some of the best private college preparatory schools in the nation, as well as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Chattanooga State Technical Community College.  Improvements to public education have been gathering momentum since citizens voted to merge separate city and county systems into one county-wide system beginning with the 1997-1998 school year.

The Greater Chattanooga area boasts a number of higher education institutions.
