Tactical Medicine

Realizing that there is a place for physicians with interest in supporting pre hospital tactical operations the program has established a SWAT rotation.  The residents will be exposed to tactical operations and all the medical support that is required to successful complete the mission.  Residents may elect to do a rotation in tactical medicine with Hamilton County Sheriff's SWAT in which the residents may take part in deployment. 

During this rotation the goals will be:

• Develop the skills to operate in a tactical environment.
• Develop the skills to maintain operational capabilities of tactical units.
• Develop the skills to minimize mortality and morbidity of personnel working in the tactical environment. 

Medical oversight of the residents training and participation will be directed by SWAT Surgeon Dr. James Creel.
